BAG

2021  Low to No Budget

Director: Michel Lowery

BAG is a social realism film set in the North-East England town of Washington, Upon Tyne and follows
Ben, a fifteen-year-old lad who gets his bag stolen by a local bully on his way home from school. Ben
is just becoming aware of the political and financial troubles that surround him as a teen growing up
in a working-class environment. Not wanting to add any more pressure on to his Mam’s shoulders, he
enlists the help of his older brother, Joe, who has just been fired from his job on the production lines
at Nissan, to get his bag back.

Michel Lowery was born in Gateshead and raised in Washington, Tyne and Wear. From a young age he showed a keen interest in story telling, writing stories for family and making short films with his friends on a ten pound camera from ASDA. One drama GCSE and a level 3 acting course later, Michel started a Film and Moving Image Production course at Norwich University of the Arts. Now preparing to graduate, Michel is taking his short grad film, BAG, around the festival circuit, preparing to take the next big step in life with plenty more stories to tell.
